The end of the golf season is nearly upon us, where did it go? How did it manage to pass so quickly? What are we going to do now? All questions we抮e sure you抳e asked yourselves already. Well we are going to soldier on through the winter months for as long as the weather allows us & hopefully come out the other end in good shape for the next golf season. At the time of writing we still have the big one to look forward to, the most watched golf tournament in the world of golf, the Ryder Cup.

This year promises to be one of the closest fought matches in the history of the competition. Sky T.V. have recently been showing footage of past Ryder Cups & even knowing that Europe won in 1995 it was exciting & compelling viewing, imagine what it抯 going to be like this time. Gone from the playing sides this time are the Montgomeries & the Pavins, they will be sweating it out like Bernard Gallagher & Lanny Wadkins were along with the players wives ( some of which must have been having babies) in ninety-five. The emotion shown by the players after the final putt was conceded & Europe became the winners was quite remarkable, Germans hugging Spaniards, Italians hugging everybody, we think Sir Nick Faldo even gave himself a pat on the back for winning his vital singles match on the last day. After what has been a remarkable season for new winners of tour events it would be great to see this contest played in the true spirit that Sam Ryder envisaged when he set the competition up back in 1927. It would be nice to see new winners as well. The Novice Golfers Team.
